White Label Customizations and API Integrations for PlayerLync

White Label Customizations and API Integrations for PlayerLync
1 minute read

The PlayerLync system is designed to be customizable and integrate with other systems by use of Application Programming Interfaces (APIs). We've done this because despite the security built into our software, we know our customers don't want it to be a "walled garden" and will have use cases where they need to move data into or out of the PlayerLync content system.

Customization

We've designed PlayerLync as a white-label product, which means that we work with our clients to customize the interface with their own logos and signature colors. This level of customization can result in greater buy-in from employees and executives when using a new system. It stands to reason that users don't feel they're using a 3rd-party app when it's fully branded. Adoption and usage rates are naturally higher with an in-house solution than one that users might feel is being foisted upon them. Ultimately, having your brand up front keeps the focus on your company, not ours.

Integrations

While PlayerLync doesn't have any pre-built integration with external systems, we do have an API in place that allows your IT team to connect existing systems, allowing you to create, edit, and delete data and rules related to users, devices, and content. Some use cases for API integration would be: Wanting to pull data about sales collateral usage into your CRM software to inform decisions about creation of future sales tools; Connecting PlayerLync to your Mobile Device Management software to set rules for content delivery based on location; or linking with an HRIS or Active Directory system to automatically populate new users into PlayerLync, including document access privilege settings.

If your company or school has a Learning Management System (LMS) in place, PlayerLync can act as the Learning Record Store (LRS) and connect using the Experience API or xAPI (also known as Tin Can) protocol. With this connection in place, learners could receive quizzes on their tablet, take the quiz, and have the results uploaded back to the LMS. PlayerLync then is a useful extension of your LMS, not a separate silo with unlinked data.

These are just a few of the interaction scenarios available for companies who are in a position to address any such needs. Not every PlayerLync customer will need this level of integration, but for those that do, the ability to make the connections easily is more than just a convenience. Ask your PlayerLync representative for more information about our APIs and white label customization.
