Text-based training has its place but there are activities where words alone fall short. Video training benefits your workforce by giving them visual and audio details of the exact steps you’d like them to take when completing tasks. For example, how to plate a dish or store closing procedures. The tendency with text is to skim, which result in lost information. With video, your staff can watch a step, pause the video, perform the task, and resume the video for the next step. Over time, this repetition and reinforcement solidifies the steps necessary but keeps a sense of confidence that the support is there if needed.
